Inspiration: 1700s French


I am painting and inspired by all things 1700s. Not so much Marie Antoinette et cetera, but the opulence of the textiles, embroidery, wardrobes and furnishings... We shall see how this may turn out in my own hand... I am bouncing around a name, BERGAMOT.
Who can tell me what Bergamot is!?
